Dasha lost her quarterfinal battle to the World No. 10 Angelique Kerber: 3-6 5-7.
The match had lasted for ninety minutes whereas Dasha served two aces, made seven double-faults and won four break-points out of nine on her opponent’s serve. However, the German managed to win six games on Dasha’s serve.
“It is very difficult to play against Kerber on grass. Even the rebound after my slices is not so high. It is easier for Kerber as she likes to play such balls. It is her cup of tea. Even when you hit the ball directly to the back line at her feet she still manages to return back and win the point. It’s madness. That’s why it’s so difficult to play with her on grass. And that’s the reason why has already been a finalist here. She has advanced into a semi-final and will be a tough opponent for anyone. She really “feels” this surface”, said Dasha after the match.
Dasha’s next stop is a clay tournament in Moscow scheduled to start on July 23.
