Dasha lost the final of the WTA Premier Mandatory tournament in Indian Wells to the Japanese Naomi Osaka: 3-6 2-6.

The match had lasted for 70 minutes and Dasha served two aces, made one double-fault and won one out of four break-points on her opponent’s serve. On her way to the final Dasha had got three consecutive victories over the representatives of the Top-10 of the ranking: Caroline Wozniacki (2), Angelique Kerber (10) and Venus Williams (8).

“I would like to express my gratitude to all the fans, sponsors and organizers. It is definitely a marvellous tournament. Naomi, I wish you hit a “tweener” today. And I also want to say the following – never give up, believe in your dreams and keep working”, said Dasha during the award ceremony.

Having reached two consecutive finals in Dubai and Indian Wells, Daria Kasatkina becomes the World No. 11 and the top Russian player in the WTA ranking.
