Daria Kasatkina reaches the semi-final of the Kremlin Cup for the third time in her career

October 19, 2018

On her way to the semi-final of the Premier tournament in Moscow Dasha has defeated the Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko 6-4 7-6(1), Alize Cornet from France 3-6 7-5 6-4 and her fellow Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4 6-3. Dasha is playing her semi-final today.

Dasha’s opponent is the World No. 44 from Britain Johanna Konta. The players have met twice and their head-to-head score is equal. This year Dasha has already defeated Konta in a three-set match in Dubai.

“I remember the last match against Konta as it was really good. She was a top-1o player back then. Konta plays aggressively and I think that she likes playing indoors. It is a semi-final and it definitely won’t be an easy match. It is necessary to have a proper attitude”, said Dasha after her quarterfinal win.

The semi-final between Kasatkina and Konta is scheduled third on the Central court. The first match begins at noon.
