Daria Kasatkina defeats the World No. 2 and advances to the quarterfinal of BNP Paribas Open

Dasha defeated the reigning Australian Open champion and the World No. 2 Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark in the fourth round of WTA Premier Mandatory tournament in Indian Wells: 6-4 7-5. 

Dasha was 0-3 down in the first set but managed to win five games in a row and successfully secured her service in the tenth game closing the set. Dasha had another winning streak in the second set. She managed to win four games in a row being 3-5 down. The match had lasted for an hour and forty minutes and Dasha served one ace, made three double-faults and won six break-points out of nine on her opponent’s serve. This is Dasha’s second victory over Caroline this year. Moreover, she also has a lead in their head-to-head record: 2-1. 

Dasha’s next opponent is the World No. 10 Angelique Kerber from Germany. The players have had four matches and their head-to-head score is equal.
