March 11, 2018

Dasha defeated Katerina Siniakova from the Czech Republic in her opening match at the Premier Mandatory tournament in Indian Wells. Daria won two break-points in the first set without losing a single service game and closed the set with a 6-2 score. In the first five games of the second set both players kept winning the opponent’s serve but eventually Dasha saved her service game and won another break-point taking the 5-2 lead. At that moment Siniakova decided to retire due to the hip injury.

Dasha has reached the third round of Indian Wells for the second time in the career and her next opponent will be the winner of the match between Sloane Stephens and Victoria Azarenka.
