Dasha crashed the French Alize Cornet in the second round, losing only three games in a match that lasted for an hour and eighteen minutes: 6-2 6-1. Two of these three games were lost on Dasha’s serve. However, she won seven out of sixteen break-points on her opponent’s serve.
“Whatever I planned or did not plan for the match – I managed to perform everything. Moreover, I was really confident after a tough victory I got yesterday. I played really well”, said Dasha after the match.
Her next opponent on the way to the semi-final will be the winner of the match between World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark and the Russian Anastasia Potapova.
“It is not a definite fact that I would play against Caroline”, said Dasha. “There is a possibility that my next opponent would be Anastasia Potapova. She is in good trim, plays really well and she will be extremely motivated in her match against Caroline. These facts may help her show her best tennis”.
